Tutoriz provides 1-to-1 ACT preparation covering English, Math, Reading and Science. Tutors diagnose section-level weaknesses, train the pacing that the ACT's tight timing demands, and build plans around each student's target score. Every student starts with a free demo class.

The ACT rewards speed as much as knowledge: 215 questions in under three hours, with some sections giving under a minute per question. Students who know the content still lose points to pacing. Our ACT tutors are test-prep specialists who train both — the content each section tests and the timing strategy that turns knowledge into points.

Prep starts with a full diagnostic review: which sections are limiting the composite, whether Math errors are content gaps or clock pressure, and whether Reading pace or question-ordering is the bottleneck. From there we sequence the highest-yield fixes first — for most students, the fastest composite gains come from English and Math, where rules and patterns are most learnable.

Sessions are 1-to-1 and online, with timed section practice between meetings and a mistake log that makes every error a data point. We work with students across the USA and Canada, and with international students applying to US universities.

Where Students Struggle in ACT Prep

These are the ACT Prep sticking points our tutors solve most often.

The Science section isn't science

ACT Science tests data interpretation, not memorized facts. Tutors train the read-the-figures-first approach that makes the section fast instead of frantic.

Finishing Reading in 35 minutes

Four passages, 40 questions, 35 minutes — most students run out of time. We teach passage-ordering and question-first scanning that buy back minutes.

Math pacing without a formula sheet

The ACT gives no formula sheet and 60 questions in 60 minutes. Tutors drill the formula recall and skip-and-return discipline that keep the clock from winning.

ACT Prep Tutoring FAQs

Should my child take the ACT or the SAT?+

The tests suit different strengths — the ACT is faster with a dedicated Science section, the digital SAT is shorter and adaptive. We recommend taking a timed diagnostic of each, then committing to whichever shows the higher baseline. Our tutors can administer both.

Do you tutor all four ACT sections?+

Yes. We cover English, Math, Reading and Science, plus the optional Writing section if your target schools require it. Most students focus sessions on their two weakest sections after the diagnostic.

What composite improvement is realistic?+

Students who complete a structured plan typically gain 3–6 composite points; gains are larger when the baseline is below 27 because English and Math improve fastest. Top-end gains (34+) need precision work on the hardest questions.

Is the ACT still useful for college admissions?+

Yes. All US colleges that accept the SAT accept the ACT equally, and at test-required and test-recommended schools a strong ACT score meaningfully improves admission and merit-scholarship odds.

How far in advance should prep start?+

Eight to twelve weeks before the test date is ideal — enough for a diagnostic, targeted section work, and two full-length practice tests. Shorter runways are possible with twice-weekly sessions.

Do you help international students taking the ACT?+

Yes. We tutor students worldwide preparing for the ACT, scheduled in their time zone. For students whose first language isn't English, we also work on the reading-speed and academic-vocabulary skills the test assumes.
